Aubusson tapestries are hand woven flat weaves or wall hangings that generally incorporate  very detailed designs or pictures. Many different colored threads are woven into the piece requiring an inordinate amount of time and skill.  While using the same weaving method of aubusson rugs, the yarns threads are much finer.

Usually Aubusson tapestries could contain more than 100 colors and some even over 200, which results in amazing and grand appearance for home decorations and that's the real charm of the lovely type of French aubusson tapestries.
