Production flow
For aubusson
rugs, aubusson tapestries and aubusson pillows
What are the
procedures and time involved in the production?
-
Aubusson rugs
Yarn dyeing and
matching (2-7 days)
For ready designs, we have yarn samples for each color
available. When dyeing pots are available, yarns would be
dyed according to the yarn samples. Then we have
professional staffs called color inspectors to inspect strictly
the colors to see if they match. If not, then re-dye them.
Once approved, then they would be used for the weaving.
As you may know, there would always be a minor difference for
each dyeing which is allowed.
Catching looms (0-30 days)
This is a big concern affecting the delivery time.
Usually looms are occupied by orders or pieces to stock.
So we will have to wait for the ongoing weaving to complete and
then reserve them for new orders or stocks. The period of
waiting can vary a lot due to the current weaving status.
Weaving (1month - 2months)
Once the rug is loomed on, it only needs 1-2 months
for the weaving. And all weavers would expect themselves to
weave more to gain more salaries each day. Big pieces have more
weavers to work on them.
Finishing (2-7days)
Once the rug is woven ready, they would be cut off the loom.
And there are still 3-5 procedures to do to finish the whole
process. As we can only treat piece by piece carefully,
each piece needs at least 2 days to get qualified to go to our
stocks. When there are more to treat, then it would takes longer
by turn.
-
Aubusson tapestries
It takes the same
procedures as aubusson rugs do. Only it needs 2 days more to
line each tapestry ready before shipment.
-
Aubusson pillows & cushions
It takes the same procedures as aubusson rugs do. Only
it takes 2-5 days more for the trimming, lining and etc.
As they are smaller, only 4-6 weeks would be enough for an
order.
