Rug and Tapestry Lining

• Why to line aubusson rugs&tapestries
  
  Some clients buy hand woven tapestries and handle the hanging by themselves.  Some do prefer professional hanging service from a local store or professionals.
  
  For either way, they would usually need a lining on the back which carries a tunnel for the rod to come through easily and carry the tapestry.  For aubusson tapestries, the lining is made for convenience of the hanging mainly.  And of course it much be strong enough since it should be used for very long. A good lining would be able to hang the tapestry easily, strong enough to carry it and  invisible from the surface of the tapestry.:).
  An aubusson rug sometimes needs a lining because the owner wants to add body to the thinner rug itself.  Usually aubusson rugs are placed on the machine made wall to wall carpets or non-slip under lays but still there are people want to have it lined for thicker appearance and neater looking.:).
  
  Now Fine Home Crafts provide professional lining service for all clients to make the lining easier.  Also it is much cheaper to do inside our workshop instead of  getting this done in your local stores.
  
  Each of our tapestries is now with a standard lining and it is free of charge!:).   For clients who want to have a full lining service, we can also arrange.
   

• Cost of the full lining
  
  For our clients, we only take the material and labor costs. So it's very cheap but will be taken special care and done very professionally. The cost of the full lining is USD1.1/sqft or USD11.8/sqm.
   

• About the full lining
  
  The full lining is done to cover fully the back of the tapestries or rugs.  It makes the rug or tapestry look much neater. It leaves a pocket on the top of a tapestry for the rod to go through easily.  The pocket should be done well in order to withstand the weight of the tapestry for long and it's always required not to show any lining from the surface of the tapestry.  To be frank, the full lining would. however, make the cleaning a bit complicated.
   

• Standard free lining service
  
  Now for each of our aubusson tapestries, we do a FREE standard lining which covers the top side of the tapestry and carry a tunnel for hanging. And many clients do like this since it not only enables an easy hanging but also reduces the weight for the tapestry to keep shape  for long.  What's more important is that many people do like to see the handmade sign from the back.:)
